Wicklow / Re: Lacey of Wicklow

Thanks Treacy, any information will be welcome. As I said in my earlier reply/post I have the baptisms for Bridget's younger siblings, Mary Anne and Felix in Glendalough. In fact I was in Glendalough just a few weeks ago but did not have this information then, pity!
I am keen to find baptisms for the other children, Winifred, Bridget and Hugh.
Also want to find the marriage record for Patrick and Esther (Byrne) Lacey in Wicklow, although I am now suspecting they may have lived elsewhere before Glendalough- perhaps the older children were born/baptised elsewhere. There are some Lacey/Leesy people near Aughrim (Rathdrum parish).
I have the BYRNE connection on both sides and am keen to also find out if Esther Byrne is related to my other Byrne side.
While Bridget married William Byrne here in Adelaide they went across to WA where they are buried.
Keep in touch. Kay

Hi
Patrick Lacey/Leesy and Esther Byrne are my ggg grandparetnts. I have just today found a baptism record for their 3rd child Mary Anne, that pinpoints them as living in Lara, near Glendalough in 1842. The original record can be sighted on the National Library of Ireland site.
I too am seeking info on the parents of Patrick and Esther but am at a brick wall. I was hoping to find a marriage record for them that might list their parents but so far no luck!

I am also a gg granddaughter of Bridget Lacey who married Willliam Byrne in Adelaide in 1856. Tracing the Lacey roots has been frustrating. I have just been to Wicklow, where I know William, son of PAtrick and Catherine lived (at least for a time) just outside Aughrim, on townland called Ballymorris. I have bap records for 3 of William's siblings for the parish of Rathdrum.
There are some Leesey (Lacey) people buried in St Bridget's Cemetery at Macreddin outside Aughrim and there are some recorded at Avoca, but no first names I recognise.
There is a Patrick Lacey listed in the 1911 census at Ballymoris lower, which if nothing else might suggest a Lacey presence going back in this area along with the Byrnes. It would explain Lacey's and Byrnes knowing each other when they got to Adelaide. Just a thought.
