Wow, that's an interesting article. I wonder now, as I said, I am having real trouble finding information on my great gran's first husband, whether he wasn't around much and perhaps after he died, the family had no where to go. How sad for the children.

Hi there, I am new to this site. I have been for some time working on our family tree, and have had some trouble finding information on one side of my family. However I have recently found a post card addressed to my grandmother, as "CA Roses Homes, Craignestock St, London Rd. Glasgow" No year to be precise, but pre 1932, I'm guessing in the prior 10 years before that. I have done some further research and am too unsure of what exactly this place was. My grandmothers, mother was married a second time after losing her first husband very young. They had 7 children together, so I am wondering also if this place was some kind of orphanage/boarding house or similar....
