« on: Friday 21 August 15 03:15 BST (UK) »many thanks Tiggi, colleen and me are 3rd cousins sharing Abraham 1901. i am direct descendant, my father is Christopher Boswell son of Abraham Boswell and mary Burr. do you speak rom. i am also a showmans daughter betty smart. were related to the Bob Wilson fun fair . bob jnr is my mothers first cousin. so one half rom other half showman.Hi My name is Samantha Nee Boswell, I think I am also related to you. I have a photo of Abraham Boswell's headstone (born 1901) Flossie is also marked on it. Abraham was also my great grandfather. Sam
like Colleen we live in Australia but in Sydney. dad said the smith, buckland, coggers james's are all related. we are one of the oldest romany famillies in the uk, dad said all the smiths were very dark skinned like him and he swears its from coming from India decades ago.
example our word for water panni is indian, sounds parni.it was my fathers grandfather Abraham that was in kent prison sorry to say.
my dad is 82 but could still make baskets and pegs. he was born in a vido on his fathers farm in bodmon . my grandfather as you know later married old flo. he was a wealthy land owner and helston museum had gold watches etc from him and his dad but when i visited cornwall in august the museum said the fob watch and chain in 18ct had gone missing. i went to see granny boswell in the museum in cornwall it was funny to see she had a clay pipe in her mouth.
things have changed in our family we have settled down and married out side the roms. my daughter has a phd in Economics and lectures in a sydney uni , i wonder what the family way back would have thought as most couldnt read or write.
sorry to bore you.
many thanks lanna.
