there is a section on Little Italy on the website Scottie Press
http://www.scottiepress.org/projects/litaly.htm

I have had a quick look - although Simeone is not mentioned - INNELLI and VOLANTE are ...Dom Volante was very famous here in Liverpool ....a TOP CLASS BOXER ...loads of info on that family  - there is a contact for all Italian families to ask questions ...I have copied and pasted the families on the site

Albertini - Baccino - Bartolomeri - Blanki - Boggiano - Bonneretti - Bordessa - Capaldi - Cappella - Chiappe - Cogliolo - Colletta - D'Annunzio - Edro - Fasciole - Ferri - Franchetti - Frediani - Fusco - Gianelli - Granelli - Guzzoni - Iello - Imundi - Innelli - Mancini - Marengo - Minchelli - Miolla - Minghella - Moretta - Muscatelli - Pacelli - Podesta - Riccio - Riozzi - Rocca - Russiano - Sabatini - Santangelli - Sartorri - Silvano - Sinagoea - Tambourini - Temarco - Valerio - Valvona - Varcelli - Ventre - Vermiglio - Volante

Good Luck  :)
ADDED - that Little Italy site is a great read - loads of info on your Volante family - for instance - where they were from

Raffaele Volante was born in Prata Sannita in the province of Caserta, Italy on 6 March 1878 to parents Gaetano and Antonia, nee Iannota....another surname for you to research...
Antonia  Iannota it would appear is an ancestor of yours ???..am I right in that assumption ?
I enjoyed that little research - very interesting ...it looks like you have Volante family still in Liverpool you can contact ...how nice

Very interesting! Thank you!

Dom volante is my 1st cousin 3x removed. I will have to have a look at that site.

Raffaele Volante 1878 is my 3rd great uncle, which makes his parents Gaetano & Mariantonia my 3rd great grandparents! :)

All of Domenico's children have now passed away. I have tried speaking to some of their children but they don't know any more than I do! I'm guessing Domenico didn't speak about home very much!

Yes that is his death! I think that must have been where I got his DOB from!

Hi, I've been searching for information about my great grandfather for over 2 years now & I haven't found much!

My great grandfather's name is Domenico Simeone, who was born in Italy. I thought he was born in 1872 as this is what is says on the 1939 register. However, I think I may be wrong as I think I may have found him on a 1911 census in Liverpool (as a boarder) but his DOB is 1881. Domenico couldn't read, write or speak English, so I'm wondering if the person who completed the 1911 census guessed his DOB?

I know that Domenico married my great grandmother Rosaria Maria Innelli, in 1911 in Liverpool, as I have their marriage certificate (Simeone is spelt incorrectly on their marriage certificate as it is spelt 'Simeoni'). The certificate says that Domenico's father was called Francesco and he was deceased on the record. They had 8 children. Domenico & Rosa have lived in Liverpool, Sheffield & Bristol. This is where Domenico died in 1942.

I have been told that Domenico had a Brother called Frank and when Domenico moved to Liverpool apparently Frank went to America? It's hard to find a passenger list with a Frank Simeone as I don not have much more information to narrow it down. I have a feeling Domenico may have went to America first before coming to Liverpool as I can't find any sign of him in England before 1911.

I would like to try and find out Domenico's parents & if Domenico had any other siblings. It would also be nice to try and find some info out about Frank. As I have very little information it has been impossible for me!

If any one has and information or could point me in the right direction that would be great!!

Other families immediately related are; Innelli & Volante.

Hi,

Sorry for taking so long to join the facebook group. I was just wondering if you have ancestry? If so would I be able to view your tree? You could also view mine (I don't have much on there as it is mostly wrote down) but if it would be of any help, you're welcome to look.

Also just to add.. Louisa/Lucia married augustini (i think that's how it's spelt) they had a daughter called Rosa/Rosaria and that is my grand fathers mum. So in theory my great gran - if I've worked it out right.

Sue, excellent work!

Looks like Fortunato's parents were Domenico and Rosa, and Luigi, Rafaelle and there is also a Vincenzo. There parents were Gaetano and Maria.

Shame there is nothing on Lucia?

Lucia is my great grandmother in some cases her name was Louisa/Luciam/Louisae. I know this post was from a very long time ago but if you're still researching I can help as I have some info about these families.
