I'm trying to found out more information on my Gt Gt Grandfather William Mills Wade who was an Inspector in the police force in Wigtownshire (poss Stranraer or Leswalt area).  Does anyone know where I might be able to find out about his service records etc?

Thanks

:)

Hi,

Have you tried looking on www.1837online.com for Alice's death?

It is a paysite but is fully indexed for BMD's for England and Wales from 1837 to about 2003.

The best of luck

Thanks for your message.  I have looked on 1837 online but not for 1887 as I wasn't expecting her to have died at that time. I'll have a look and see what it comes up with.

Thanks again.

I do not know if this is the right family. An Alice Langstaff died in Liverpool in 1886. William Langstaff married a Mary Ann O'Brien in 1887 Liverpool.

The Scottish William mentioned on previous post was with his wife in 1881

If you have details of any children from Alice's marriage names dates, and can provide could help to find correct information. I would be happy to search for you.

Thanks very much for this.  It would sem to make sense with the info I already have.  The only child I have found for William and Alice is Thomas Daniel Langstaff, my grandfather. He was born in Liverpool 1882 and went on to marry Ann Kirkbride.   William & Alice were married on 3 June 1881.  Do you think this is the right family?

Many Thanks

I'm looking for info on my Gt Grandmother Alice Alicia Mulligan.  She married William Langstaff in St Nicholas Church Liverpool in 1881.  I've been unable to find any death records for her or her husband.

Any information would be grateful

Hi Pat

Thanks very much for the info.  George is definitly my man!  I have a reference to him being No 605. I just wish I could find BMD info for him.  In your e-mail you mention that he was a sub-inspector in Kanturk; have you any idea where that is as its certainly new to me.  Also any idea who Lord Riversdale was?

Cheers Fiona

Alex

I've only just found this site and noticed that you have posted info about Thomas & Martha McCulloch.  I also have them in my tree. Do you know if Martha Mc Ewan was married previously to a Charles Milroy?  I'm having real problems trying to find any information.  My Gt  Grandmother Mary McCubbin's mother is shown as Jane Milroy (father Charles Milroy) on her birth certificate but McCulloch on her marriage certificate.  As far as I am aware Martha went on to marry Thomas McCulloch.

Hope this makes sense.Any help would be appreciated.

I'm looking for information on my Gt Gt Gt Grandfather George Wade and his wife Mary. He was born approx 1797 in Cork West (not sure what part exactly.  I do know that he was a Head Constable in the Royal Irish Constabulary and retired in 1860.  They had one son that I know of (William Mills Wade born approx 1840) who was also in the RIC but moved to Scotland sometime later.

Any help would be appreciated ::)
