Hi there, we are 3rd cousins.  My Mam was first cousins with your Grandmother ( I’ve met your Grandmother).   And I’ve visited the family home in Garriskill, Westmeath when your Great grandmother - Mary - was living there.   My Grandmother was her sister, Julia Daly.

I can confirm that that this was a catholic family.   The plot also includes my Aunts, Great Aunts, Grandparents, and Great Grandparents.

Hi - I'm looking for help to read the date on this Daly family headstone.  Also, if there is any context on the style/period of the writing, particularly the spelling of died - "Dide"

This is really helpful myluck, thank you.  I'll research the immigration records for Catherine going to the US.

I have an update for this thread:

Ann Carrigy (née Maurtagh) parents were Matthew Murtagh and Elizabeth (Bessie) Plunkett (b. ~1818)

Ann had three sisters; Margaret Murtagh (b. 1857), Julia Thornton (b.1863), Rose M Kennedy.

I've not been able to identify Rose's husband yet if anyone can help out there.

And I've not been able to identify Elizabeth (Bessie) Plunkett's family yet.

Thanks for your help Sinann.  This one has me stumped.  Griffiths lists Murtaghs as tenants in Faughalstown but can't find a record to tie Ann in at all.
