Hi Nathan
I have one set of great grandparents x 4 who were both Beard decendants one from Thomas and one from William.
The old Red Church grave yard is presently having work to clear the site and preserve its heritage so some grave stones have been uncovered including Beard family vaults.
A list of burials can be found on Broseley local history societys website, there is also now a friends of the Red Church website too, also friends of red church is on facebook,so you may find it useful in your research, regards Mel

The Beard family besides having the general Gordon pub also had the werps inn, they were also owners of barges and trows and were involved in the river trade for many years.
They also owned one of the earliest brick and tile making companys called the Holly Grove brick and tile works.
You will find grave stones for Beards in Broseley St Leonards Church, also at Benthall Church, but family vaults were at St Marys Church, known locally as the Red Church, which is no longer there but graves remain but badly over grown so not able to see many stones.
The Beards family home was on the Banks of the river severn at Coalford Jackfield,it was called The Old Hall, the last Beard to live there was an old man Lacon Beard, the family lived there for 237 years, the house was sold to the Willy estate, and was demolished by the Lord Foresters men.

In the book Broseley and its surrounds by john randall,it mentions The Old Hall an old house at Coalford Jackfield Shropshire that was owned by a Lacon Beard,in a diary of Lacon Beard it says on the 10th of march 1832 the house was pulled down by Lord Foresters men after being in the  family since 25th March 1595,the Lacon family were the original owners of the property and connected to the Beards.
in 1657 a James Lacon and his wife Dorothy of the West Coppice leased the Old Hall to Phillips Reynolds,James and Dorothy Lacon had a son called John.
I have the Beard on my family tree, the Beards inter married with the Potts family many times over the generations,my grt grand parents x 4 were William Potts and Drucilla Lloyd both decended from members of the Beard family. The Beard family vaults were at the Red Church Jackfield, grave stones for Beards are also in St Leonards Church Broseley Shropshire and a cast iron grave stone for a Eustace Beard is in Benthall Church.Extracts of wills for some Beards can be found in the book miners and mariners of the severn gorge.

I am researching the Beards as I have several links on my family tree.
There was mention of a Lacon Beards Diary that mentioned a house that the Beards had occupied for over 200 hundred years at Jackfield Shropshire, unfortunatley the local museums do not have a copy of it,the house was sold to Lord Forester of Willy and he had it demolished.
The Beards had Pubs and Inns at Jackfield and were well known barge owners .
