Could well be a celebrity visiting, they have what looks like a news reel camera set up on the other side of the road.

It does look like 18 and maybe an a. Possibly a studio reference number for reprints etc.

Islington gardens was off Islington, which was off William Brown St.which was apparently Liverpool 3

The pyjamas on the left have pretty hefty buttons. Judging by the furniture I would say 1920-30's.
Looks as though they may be sisters.
