Hello HeatherLima
I live in Eastern Canada.  Margaret Milne, daughter of William Milne (my second Great Uncle) and Mary McKay immigrated to Canada about 1906 after the death of her father along with her husband James Lindsay.  The family settled in Saskatchewan and raised their family. One of their daughters Mary McKay Lindsay became a successful cattle broader.  This information came from a distant cousin Ethel Lindsay Sweezy.  My line comes from William Milne younger brother James Milne (my great grandfather).  I am happy to share information if this is of interest to you or anyone else on this site.   Best regards.
Lynda J.

This is the email I used at Dundee City Archives. Once you have the information if you contact the cemetery they will often take a photo of a grave stone for you for a small fee. Good luck with your search.

If you contact the Dundee Archives in the Overgate and give the date and name of the deceased person they will tell you which cemetery the person is buried in.

This might be of interest:When Lord Lewis Gordon initiated the Deeside Jacobite movement in 1745, he appointed Francis Farquharson of Monaltrie as Colonel. Monaltrie, or the 'Baron Ban' was a very close friend of the Crathienaird, Glenisla and Glenshee Shaws.  When Monaltrie mustered the Farquharsons, many Shaws joined him, or joined the regiment of their neighbour, the Earl of Airlie. Risking all with the Baron Ban and young Lord David (Ogilvy), the Shaws fought at both Falkirk and Culloden*.

Hello, I also have Duncans in Glenisla.  My 3rd Great Grandmother was Elizabeth "Betty" Duncan b. about 1753 she married David Milne b. abt. 1753.  Their granddaughter Betty or Betsy Milne had an illegitimate child with William Storrier in 1847 he was baptized in Fettercairn as James Milne Storrier.  Betsy went on to marry William Grant and had several of children. The Milnes and Storriers and Duncan it seems were connected and married into each others families. I am searching for the parents of Elizabeth Duncan b. 1753. There are several possibilities but I cannot definitely connect the dots! Elizabeth died at Cammock farm in Glenisla in 1821 and left a will which names the children. She was the widow of David Mill or Milne farmer at Westerton of Balintore.  If anyone has a connection I would be most grateful to hear. Many thanks Lynda

I was drawn to your posts about Auld Allan. My family were also tenants there in 1821. My 3rd Great Grandmother's will refers to her daughter Betty Mill Milne and son-in-law William Grant farming at Auld Allan. My 2nd Great Uncle William Milne married Betty McKay who was the daughter of Thomas McKay and Jean Ramsay.  My Milne Family were tenants in Westerton of Balintore, Wester Pearsie, Longdrum, Balloch and Herd.  If there is any connection I'd be happy to share information. As an aside, Auld Allan was recently up for sale for a mere $498,000  pounds if anyone is interested! Best regards.
