Our strawberries 🍓 too are wonderful this year, large flavoursome and juicy… netted over to stop the birds eating them and definitely a bumper crop. My family will enjoy them this w/end when we visit them in Brighton.
I love this warm weather with a gentle breeze but avoid the garden until early evening when it’s cooler and shaded.
Think we’ve had more bbq’s already than we did in whole of last year!

Hope everyone is able to enjoy some warm sunshine so good for one’s soul…

Just catching up with last weeks diary… we have very good friends who live in Milbourne Port!! It’s always interesting when you hear of small places  you know quite out of context!

Glad to hear everyone is getting on well and hope for better health for all as the sun is shining and its warm… pity about the gardens though all the watering we’re doing on the veg plot..
Great strawberries this year and I’ve managed to make sure they don’t get eaten unlike our mostly grown lettuce, beetroot and would you believe runner beans all been shredded by those dastardly pigeons… unbelievable never happened to beans before  now we have CD 💿’s tied up over everything to stop them any further… my poor OH is beside himself 😢.

Enjoy your trip down south Annette… how are those lovely twins doing?

Gillg - pleased to hear you’ve had your pacemaker fitted and hope you’ll soon be up to speed and living a normal comfortable life.

Viktoria- - you continue to amaze me every day with all that you do and hope your vehicle issues are resolved … wonderful you were able spend time with your family in Suffolk a lovely county and know Framingham well!

LM hope your husbands birthday went well and you enjoyed some family time. Thankyou for continuing to start the diary every week too.

My best to all those I’ve not mentioned too.

Glad to hear the weather in UK is still sunny but we’re worrying about all vegs, newly planted sweet peas and strawberries with so many flowers on… hard to water from Rhodes where we are currently! Good job our neighbours going to do some veg watering for us as after two weeks they could all be dried up if you keep having this weather!
Going by boat across to Turkey tomorrow for 4 days to visit Pamukkale and Ephesus then a week back in Rhodes. Weathers perfect 23/24C.

Hope your buggy situation gets sorted soon Viktoria to your satisfaction.. certainly been going on a while.
Good to hear of all your improvements KG..

All best to everyone else and enjoy the lovely weather.

I’m too young to know what went on in the war, born in ‘51… but both parents were in Egypt.. Mum in decoding messages in British Embassy in Cairo..
Dad was in RAOC as Major at the time disappearing off into the desert with all the vehicles being disturbed around so TY your Dad could well have been in a tank supplied by my Dad!

Have been in London today and was amazed at how few people seemed to be around! Everyone round Buckingham palaces I expect… friend and I went to see the Cartier exhibition at the V & A… she’s not in best of health and it was very chilly so couldn’t wander through Green Park as it would have been too much for her… but we had a good day out and plenty of seats on the underground and our trains to and from!

I find listening to some of those who were in the war quite fantastic such vivid memories..

Take care all

The days seem all over the place and as for the dates I’m always terrible!
Dull and cloudy this morning and then rain which all the newly planted vegs/ seeds are in desperate need of.
The rain didn’t stop our grandsons from being in the garden but lunch soon brought them inside… I had a full fridge when they arrived yesterday morning and by teatime today it’s looking very empty!
Looking forward to the sun and warmer weather returning.

Hope everyone has had an enjoyable Easter whatever the weathers been like and enjoy the rest of the week.
Take care everyone

Good luck with your scooter Viktoria, I will be thinking of you tomorrow and hope you’ll enjoy your first? Outing on it!

We listened to Gareth Southgate too, what a measured man he is and such thoughtfulness and good advice he gave… an inspiration to the young. It’s a pity his missed penalty always gets brought up.. poor man. It sounds like he had good advice after the event as been able to learn such strength from it.

Glad to hear that RTL is ok.

Goodnight all, looking forward to a warm day tomorrow.

It’s quite fascinating looking up well known people …. My daughter lives in Blondin Ave, the next road is Niagara Ave… it piqued my interest and sure enough Charles Blondin and family lived there for 11 years in the late 1800’s.
His house was actually built opposite The Plough ( established in 1700’s) and some of the surrounding roads were named after him along with Blondin park that is held by the council and includes a nature reserve, allotments. The whole area was originally an orchard…
My grandson assisted me when we looked up the census and 1939 register to see who’d originally lived in their house.. he was quite enthused with it all so hopefully a budding genealogist in the making!
Bit of a digression from the original subject but hey ho!
