Let me know if more information is needed.  I have a collection of postcards sent to/from Isabella.

Thank you for your response.  By 1856 James Henderson was living in Dublin so this doesn't help.

Cavan / 1821 or 1831 Cavan census Henderson family - COMPLETED

Can anyone tell me how I can access to a 1821 or 1831 census of Cavan?

If anyone does have access to these census's, please could you have a look to see if there is a family with the following people:  James Henderson (aged about 4), Robert Henderson (farmer), possibly Elizabeth, and a mother (name unknown).

Many thanks

Monmouthshire / Re: James family from Grosmont, Monmouth

Thank you everyone for your help.

It does not appear that John James from Monmouth is my ancestor but before I eliminate this lead, I would like to find out what became of the Sabina James from Grosmont.

I have a marriage certificate and death certificate for Sabina James but have no idea of her origin.  The death certificate suggests that she was born around 1828-1830.  There do not appear to be any other records of a Sabina James from the UK on any of the databases which I have searched.

Any further ideas would be very much appreciated.

All I know is that the Sabina James mentioned in the IGI was christened on 17 August 1828.

The father of the Sabina James from my family was a chandler.  On the 1845 Griffiths Valuation of Ireland, John James is shown as living in Ireland.  Sabina was married in Dublin in 1853.

I would be interested to know if there was a John James, a chandler, living in Grosmont at the time of Sabina's birth.

Can anyone help please?

The IGI has a record for Sabina James born in Grosmont, Monmouth.  I have a copy of Sabina's marriage certificate but there are no clues as to where she came from.  Both the IGI record and the marriage certificate give the same name for Sabina's father.  I do not want to assume that they are the same person.  Any ideas of what I can do next?  I have details of the father's profession.  Is there a directory which would list names and professions of those living in Monmouth between around 1820 and 1830?

Cavan / Re: Cavan COI Marriages

Thank you for this.  Yes, I have already looked at this site in great detail but there is no trace of my great great grandparents.  Although they lived in Cavan for most of their lives, I suppose there is always the possibility that they were married elsewhere.  I have ordered their death certificates from the GRO and am hoping that they may give some clues as to where I can look next.

Cavan / Cavan COI Marriages - COMPLETED

Does anyone know how I can get hold of COI marriage records for Cavan?  My local family history centre has a record of Irish marriages from 1854 but I haven't found out whether other years can be ordered.  As my great grandparents could have married anytime between 1848 and 1860, it could prove quite costly to order all the films even if they are available.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have just noticed that you have access to a 1950 directory for Dublin.   Could you give me any information about any of the Henderson family living in Dublin please.  I am looking for an address for Alfred Henderson but any other Hendersons in the directory are of interest too.

Many thanks.
