Hello all!
I am very new to all of this and have been enjoying reading everyone's posts about their families! It is so nice to see that everyone is so willing to help each other. It is also fun to watch the connections being made and families grow!
I know that this thread is very old... but it caught my attention because because of my Toledo, OH family roots. Both of my parents were born and raised in Toledo and their families both settled there around the 1880-90's. My gg-grandmother Delia Smith McCrary was the daughter of William Smith and Spisana Mary Lovell. Delia was born in New Jersey (from what family members can recall) and she remembered travelling to Ohio in wagons. She had many brother and sisters and 3 of her sisters married three Broadway brothers. My grandma Ella Mae McCrary McVicker was born in the park across the street from the Toledo Hospital... in a tent. She also had many brothers and sisters. My ggreat grandfather James Edward McCrary was a horse trainer and traveled with a fair/circus (not really sure which). I have been having a very difficult time trying to connect the dots...
I have been trying to figure out how to contact the rootschat member Bonnie. She said she was very interested in the history of Toledo and the gypsy culture. It appears that she only posted a few times more than 15 years ago... I am hoping that someone would be able to help me get in contact with her or anyone else that would have any information about Toledo, OH.
Thanks so much!
Anna
