Hello  Nice to hear from you.   Unfortunately I do not think we are related as my Thomas Lucas married Cheny Courtnall christened 16.7.1704 Shotley not able to find Thomas' birth or parents and they had four children Danie c1738 Freston, Samuel c1745 Shotley, John c1747, Shotley who married Mary Mudd they had a child Mary Anne c1805 Holbrook.  Mary [Mudd] died 1806 and John married Mary Driver b1788 Holbrook and they had Mary c1779 Woolverstone, John c1781 Woolverstone, Thomas c1782 Woolverstone, Deborah c1784 Woolverstone and William c2785 Woolverstone.

Please let me know if you find anything else as I have come to a full stop with the earlier Lucas' as I the only way I can research them is by coming to Suffolk and unable to find anything on Thomas born about 1715.   Good luck with your research and thank you for contacting me.

Hello.

Thank you so much for that information regarding Thomas B Wright - where did you find it all?   I am over the moon, been researching for ages but always came to a dead end irish descendants are hard to trace.  You were correct in saying about Pendennis Castle and then on the 1871 census Thomas and his wife moved to Surrey and was in the Militia.
Can you suggest ways I can find out more i.e. get a copy of the extract from The Times, I may then be able to trace his army career through the National Archives - but at present unable to find neither his date of birth or date of marriage or date of death.   All I know is that his son, Alfred Wright, was born abt 1847 at St. Georges Middlesex - another birth certificate I am unable to obtain.
Thank you again for all the information you have given me.
I am now going to look at the aerial photograph.

Please can any inform me of what CBRA stands for as it appears on the 1861 my gt.gt. grandfather Thomas Wright  b 1828 Ireland.
Unfortunately I am unable to trace him on the 1851 nor the 1841 census.

On the 1871 census he appears at being a Liet. East Middlesex Militia.

On the 1881 census he appears as a Retired Captain 1st Middlesex Militia.

Thanks - any help would be appreciated

Hello

Love to correspond.   The information I have is that John b 1781 Woolverstone was buried 23/1/1833 at Holbrook and married Mary Driver 9/10/1810 -  No information on Mary Driver other than b 9/3/1788 I think need confirmation of her parents.
John b 1819 Holbrook died 1/2/1910 at Gravesend and married Mary Ann Ives 18/11/1844 who was c 25/8/1823 Gravesend and died on 27/12/1893.
If you need any more information, please let me know.

Kind regards   Rosaleen

Thanks for all the information.  I have obtained this information as I visited Ipswick Record Centre and have now gone back to about 1732 but unfortunately cannot find any of the Lucas' on the 1841 census except Robert b 1812 Holbrook, they all seemed to have vanish until 1851, seems very strange I have gone through the census separately for all the counties also.
For you information the John baptised 1817 died in 1818.
Also it has on the certificate that John b 1781 was a widower when he married Mary Driver.  His parents were John b 1747 Shotley and married Mary Martin birth and death I do not know and his parents were I think Thomas and Cheney/Cheny/Chienie Courtnall c 16/7/1704 Shotley and married 1732 Chelmondiston.   I have applied for the certificates from the Ipswich Records Office.   I have found all this on the IGI site and then confirmed it at Ipswich
Thanks very much for all your help and assistance - it is very much appreciated.

I am trying to ascertain the marriage certificate of Thomas' marriage to Sabella Hammerton.  I believe the marriage took place about 1835 in Glasgow Strathclyde.

Any help or advice would be appreciated as cannot go any further with the family tree until I have this.

Thank you
