Probably one of the most seen and photographed flower sellers of London was Lilly Cooper of Piccadilly Circus.  You can see her in this photo:

The Common Room / Re: Comedians ??
« on: Wednesday 02 November 05 21:59 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

I don't know if it was a paid profession but I've recently purchased a victorian glass negative that features a comedian performing in a London street.  They don't look like beggars so I presume it was a street show of some sort?

The Common Room / Re: What age is this photograph?
« on: Wednesday 02 November 05 21:54 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

This looks like a Cabinet card photo which were popular from the late 1860s until around 1900.  They consisted of photos measuring about 4" x 5.5", mounted on trade cards measuring about 4.5" x 6.5".

Cheers
