Thankyou very much Haliared and Calverley Lad, for your comments and suggestions - I have indeed linked printer and pc with a cable now, trying to get it to work via wi-fi was just too time consuming and irritating! Will not be investigating any further.

Dear Rootschatters
Have been using my Epson Ecotank for at least two years with just about no hiccups at all.
Then over the last few weeks printing is slow, or delayed, or non-existent. Using the little screen on the printer, sometimes it tells me that wi-fi is strong or poor, although it's placed only a few feet from the BT router.
All other devices using the same router work fine. And if I print from my phone it works immediately.
So could the problem be the router?
would be pleased to hear your opinions.
