Hi, Your post is quite a few years old now but I was just wondering if you found any more information on Elizabeth Gibson? My Nana is descended from the Gibson family of Renfrewshire.

I just found the 1841 census. It had been transcribed under Stilwell. Thomas wasn't listed so he must have died prior to 1841. Eliza was 11 months old.

Thank you so much for your replies. I just realised I don't have have any concrete evidence that he was born in Newbury let alone Berkshire (sorry!). I think he did die before the 1841 census (there's a record for a Thomas Attewell dying in 1839 in Newbury, Berkshire) but I can't find Maria on any census in 1841 either - was it compulsory or might they have somehow missed that family? She remarried John Herbert in 1845 so Maria and the children Stephen, Henry, Ann and Eliza should have been on the 1841 census. I'm trying to find connections for my Uncle's father's family (his father wasn't listed on his birth certificate so I'm going off DNA matches...and I've hit a brick wall at Thomas Attewell in Berkshire). Thank you so much for your help!

I'm wondering if anyone can please look up the birth of Thomas Attewell born around 1806 in Newbury, Berkshire. I'm trying to find out who his parents were. He married Maria Hunt in 1827.

His children include Stephen, b. 1829
Henry, b. 1832
Ann, b. 1835
Eliza, b. 1840

I'm looking for information on the marriage of Thomas Attewell b. abt 1806, Newbury, Berkshire and Maria, born abt 1804, Newbury, Berkshire. I think their marriage was probably around 1827. I'm trying to find Maria's maiden name. I believe she re-married after Thomas's death to John Herbert.

Thomas and Maria's children included
Stephen, b. 1829,
Henry, b. 1832,
Ann, b. 1835
Eliza, b. 1840

It's amazing how far a family can spread isn't it?! George and Catherine only had two sons!

I have some letters you might be interested in reading. They were from Adam + Barbara to their son George when he emigrated to Australia. Can I send private messages on here?

Hi Terry, my 4 x great grandparents were Thomas Lothian and Helen Henderson. I'm descended from Adam Lothian + Barbara Allan's son, George who emigrated to Australia with his wife Catherine Goodall and son, Adam Huntly Lothian.  I visted Old Westruther church in 2005 to see Thomas + Helen/ Adam + Barbara's grave.  Lauren

So 15 children in all that I found.

Father Thomas Lothian b 2/9/1802 d 8/8/1875 parents are Adam Lothian and Isabella Grieve, I have 6 children for them including Thomas.

Helen Hendersons b 25/5/1806 d 31/7/1881 parents were Adam Henderson b abt 1767 d 10/6/1841 and Agnes Dods b abt 1774 d 29/11/1853 , I have 9 children for them including Helen.  I know where Adam and Agnes are buried I would be able to get a photo of the gravestone if it's in not too bad condition

I also know where Thomas and Helen Henderson are buried so would be able to get a photo of their grave.

I have info on quite a few of the siblings of all these families and further down the line also...been researching this one quite a while.
