Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: Henry Hepworth in 1871 & 1861 census
« on: Saturday 18 July 15 12:06 BST (UK)  »
Hi Mickleover,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes it looks like we have different Henry Hepworths. I tried to find your Henry John, but couldn't find a lot about him. Did he marry the mother of the children? Is she Jane Dibb? I found a marriage for a son Joseph Henry Dibb Hepworth in 1884 to Faith Hunt. From FindMyPast father Henry Hepworth. Image should be on ancestry.(1 don't have access to ancestry at the moment).

What was the address in Manchester on childrens birth certificates?

Regards

Linda

Hi Mort and Mickleover,

Are you related to this family? Have you found any more about them?

Thanks

Suffolk Lookup Requests / Marriage lookup John Shaw and Ellen Laurina White
« on: Friday 19 June 15 18:35 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I am looking for the marriage of John Shaw and Ellen Laurina White which took place in Ipswich in 1874. (Ipswich 4a 1314 from FreeBMD).

Are there any index for marriages in Ipswich. I have no knowledge of where the marriage might have taken place.

Thanks

Linda

Hello Dobfarm,

Thanks for the offer of checking the entry at Leeds archive. I have access to ancestry but haven't been able to find the marriage.

The details on Yorkshire BMD are

BROWN   Frank   MIDGLEY   Mary A M   St Mary Magdalene, East Keswick   Leeds   CE122/14

The reference number given - CE122/14 shows it will be entry 14 in the marriage book.

Hope that helps.

Regards

Linda

Hello Jackie,

Thanks for the info.

I think that could be my William. He was born Andover. Just waiting for the marriage certificate to arrive to show father's name.

Hi Dawn,

Thanks for taking the time to email a reply and for the info. Its very useful to know.

Following your suggestion to check the newpapers, I have found

Yorkshire Gazette 27 Sept 1856

On Monday, the 22nd inst., at Driffield, Mr. Wm. Brown, moulder, to Miss Eliza Hopper, milliner.

Unfortunately no place or parents names are mentioned, so I will need to bite the bullet and obtain the certificate to find out the details.

Linda
