Hi, I don't know if you are still researching Edward Carrin Armstrong but I would be interested to hear if you have anymore information on him. He is my son-in-law's Great Great Grandad. Little is known about this side of the family  as his son Cecil Armstrong married my Son-in-laws grandmother bigamously. Cecil's son,  S-O-L's granddad would never discuss his real father and sadly now he has dementia and is unable to tell us anything. We feel that Edward must have been Peruvian born as Ronald, (S-I-L) granddad is quite dark skinned, as is Jamie's mother. We have only just discovered these details regarding Edward and Cecil and it has always been rather a mystery to the family as to where their skin colouring originated from. Hope this all makes sense.
Hope to hear from you, Thanks Jean
