amondg,   you were able to come up with that spelling quickly and we tried for days/weeks to analyze it and were never sure - now I can't find the document showing that name so haven't been able to look at it now.  what I have found on my computer is a hilarious explanation from somebody who was helping me from Random Acts of Kindness, about why I should not believe in any spelling until I get the actual Parish record and better still, birth certificate; and even then the vicar's transcript is probably not right because mum may have mumbled to the vicar because she wasn't married and then if she was illiterate she couldn't correct it anyway and so on.  Quite funny.  and it went on to say I should go for the birth record even tho the whole name may not be on there and lo and behold I did buy the cert. and sure enough no father's name was listed so then the person went on to explain how that might have all come about:)  Very funny.   So no help with the birth cert.  The thought back then was Tesalle.  I'll do some research with Lesalle and see what I come up with.     Thank you for your response :) I'm still laughing at my typed notes.

Brentor Boy,   thanks - I do happen to have that info. I worked on this family a few years ago and knew I'd have to get back to it one day so I'm continuing now - I have a lot of info on this family that I got from records back then and am hoping someone will come out of the woodwork and recognize their own family -  I have found quite a few cousins thru Roots Chat in the past that I'm in touch with and this is the only part of my direct line that is remaining to make contact with if possible. In the hopes that they will have info on generations further back that I don't have.

Annette, this is quite a confusing family - I am also in need of the correct spelling or pronunciation of the full name of the man who married Elizabeth Mary Holman in Sept. 1885 in London City.  It is ROBERT THOMAS ____________RANDS   - can anyone decipher it for me please?
He was born  Sept.12,1861 in Marham, Norfolk.

Thank you.

I'm looking for any relatives of Thomas Rands (b. circa 1799 in Marham, Norfolk) (died about 1852 in Marham) who married Ann Spruce.
Children were:    Emily b. 1840  Marham
                         Elizabeth b. 1843 Marham
                         Ann b. 1844 Marham

Emily Rands was married to Robert Thomas Rands b. Sept. 12, 1861 in Marham, Norfolk.
He married Elizabeth Mary Holman in Sept. 1885 in London City, London
(Elizabeth Holman is in my direct line and I have her siblings and living relatives but this is my first request for anybody related to her family.
Thank you.

Hi, Jo,  I woke up this morning thinking about the Gough family and wishing I could get thru the work on my desk so I can get back to researching.  I had given up hope of hearing from anyone on this message and now here you reply.  How wonderful to hear from you.  I just tried to call but it didn't go thru as dialed it said.  Can you give me your e-mail address so we can correspond that way at least for now?
I have tons of stuff on your family and got it all from Ancestry or Find my Past.com.  I am currently hung up on the birth of Beatrice Maud.   Do you have ANY info as to where her birth was registered.   All the censuses show her BORN in Scarborough but the Harrogate registration office does not have any entry for her birth.  I think the whole family came from London and wondered if her birth could have been registered there and haven't had a chance to look yet.

I'm wanting to make contact with families of Douglas William Gough (b 1902) and Dorothy May Gough (b1905).  They had a sibling born after 1905 and before 1911 who was adopted by another family.  (My mother was another sibling who was adopted out later).
Is it possible that someone can check the registers in Harrogate Parish where it is believed the birth was registered between 1905 - 1911 to find the name, sex, etc. of the other sibling.  Parents names were William Henry Gough and Beatrice Maud Wilson.  That 3rd child was not shown on the 1911 census but Beatrice was shown to have had 3 live births & none died at the time of the census.

Arie, I'm thinking you have GedComon on Family Search.  Your name is so familiar and if so I tried to contact u two yrs ago to no avail. Can u send me personal e-mail so I can give more info. You must be familiar with Richard Shea who also has posted info on that site.  His deceased wife was a Cross from the Aberdeen line whom he said orig. came from Dingwall.  He gave me info on Isabella & Wm. Fraser (Robt.Cross father of Isabella no dates - who is he?). I do have all Rodk's children but not who they married.  I think Vicki Grant's line IS the same as mine.  The death certificate of Roderick shows death recorded Jun 11, 1861 and parents are given as Thomas Cross, miller, and Rebecca McLennan, & age given 69.  He moved from Kiltearn to Alcaig '51-'61. Donald Cross may be half brother as parents are Thomas Cross (Master Miller of Contin) and Anne Tolmie, per Don's death cert. and where do your William and Alex come from??Can u give me parents/more dates etc. I have no siblings for Roderick other than Vickie's info and have too much info yet missing info to make good connections. maybe you have info I need & vice versa.
