HI Jan
I was so excited to see you post re William Moodie of Barrhead. I think we can be 99% sure that William and Alexander were brothers. There was only one Moodie family in Barrhead between 1820 and today. Alexander and his wife were involved in Cotton trade. William was a family name and there was one in each generation up till the last male, who died not that long ago. Do you know anything about Barrhead? I can give you much more info if you contact me personally. You can get my link on Facebook and then we can exchange email addresses. I am pretty sure that the brothers family originally came from Ireland as we had a DNA test done with the last Moodie relative in Scotland and we were linked with Moodie's in US. One of them is very interested in ancestry and contacted me. His ancestor had travelled to Canada/US in 1804 from Ireland and there are many blood relatives now there. Irene Mackay (Moodie)
