I have found further information on Assanette Pashaian (married Henton).
She filed a petition for naturalization in 1942 (while her husband, Richard, was working for the military) and lists that she has changed her name to Gladys Henton.  She was then granted Jan 1944.

According to familysearch, Sibles Thomas had banns read for a marriage to JOHN Henton

Sibles Thomas
Wales, Pembrokeshire, Parish Registers
Name   John Stenton
Event Type   Marriage Banns
Event Date   02 Sep 1781
Event Place   Haverfordwest, St Thomas, Pembrokeshire, Wales
Spouse's Name   Sibles Thomas

This is the record I found too.  I am sorry that in my original post, I was confused.  Correct, John married Sibles.  I believe his father to be George Henton, with Mother unknown.

I am tracing my Henton family and have come across a stumbling block.  A John Henton b1795 in Llandissilio in Pembrokeshire/carmarthenshire and i'm trying to find his parents.  I think i have found his father - a George Henton and I have found a marriage record for a George Henton and a Sibles Thomas in 1781 in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.  If these are the correct parents, I can't find a lady called Sibles anywhere.  Can anyone help??

I have just realised I listed Johns birth date - It should be 1759.  Sorry his son, Thomas was born 1795.

Is this his burial [familysearch]?
Name   John Henton
Event Type   Burial
Event Date   12 May 1878
Event Place   Llandissilio, Carmarthenshire, Wales
Age   79
Birth Year (Estimated)   1799

If so have you tried the burials/MIs for his parents @ this parish church?

I  know you said you can't find her anywhere but would probably be useful to say where you have looked to avoid duplication; then new ideas may spring up....

Hi Josey,
Thankyou for your help - This John isn't the John i'm researching.  I don't have him listed on my family tree, but it must be Johns son or very close relative.  The John in my tree was born in 1759.
I have looked for death records for surname henton and hinton on bmd, ancestry & find my past within the date range of 1759 - 1840.  I feel it may be easier to find her death record as there aren't as many hentons rather than searching for birth records for surname Thomas.

There is a death entry for Charles Butcher in Lambeth in 1863 if that helps?

Family History Beginners Board / Finding William George - Pembrokeshire
« on: Tuesday 27 September 16 16:23 BST (UK)  »
I have managed to source my family back to a chap called William George.  The only info I have is that he had a daughter in 1806, son James in 1808 and another daughter in 1809 - all born in Lambston Parish, Pembrokeshire.  On all their baptism records it lists William as their father and their mother was called Jane/Jenet.  I'm a bit stumped to find out more information on William?  I'v been unable to find any birth or marriage records for him in Pembrokeshire so far.

Thankyou all for your help.  I have delved into things and it seems that richard henton was in the army which took him to egypt where he fell ill, where he must have met & married Assanette, where they travelled to New York to try to live.  Richard was allowed in as he was an "Englishman", but unfortunately Assanette, being born in Egypt, was barred as the African quota had been met, they both then travelled to England and tried to travel to New York Again unfortunately for Assanette to be barred again duo to the quota being filled and she was sent to Ellis Island.  Richard fought hard for Assanette and I'm assuming he was successful as she was listed in the 1930 census with Richard in Brooklyn.  I found a number of newspaper articles on the situation, one of which I have attached.  Thankyou again for all your help.  I have solved a family mystery xx
