P.S.
Hallmark...love the pic accompanying your name. I'm still only at the banging my head on my wood computer stand stage.

Thanks again...you guys are keeping me busy...but no luck so far.

My wife's grandfather, and possibly his father as well, was in the merchant marines. So, in the 1911 census his name, Patrick, doesn't appear with that of his wife, Honora and eldest son, Michael who are living with her mother and father...which made for some confusion initially.

A question...a funeral home card for my wife's grandfather as well as a death certificate I found lists his place of death as Carrigane Cottage, Carrigtwohill. Does anyone know if Carrigane Cottage is an address or a separate town/village?

Thank you for the quick reply Kiltaglassen.
Richard, John and Johanna fit with our Patrick. I'm not aware of there being a Nora but it gives me another lead to follow.
The death of Mary will help as well though I have to be careful as I've found records for a Patrick and a Mary Lawton in both Carrigtwohill and Imogeela and I'm constantly trying to tease out which line I'm looking at.
My wife's father Michael was born in Carrigtwohill and he arrived in Boston. His sister, Mary lived in Massachusetts while he came to New York City to start his family and raise his children.
I'm not sure if you too are researching Fitzgeralds from Carrigtwohill but if you are I'd be happy to share information.
Thanks again,
McG

Good Morning,
I'm researching my wife's family, (Fitzgerald), and hoping there may be someone here to share information.
Her Grandfather, Patrick, is from Carrigtwohill, born in 1876 to Patrick Fitzgerald and I think Mary Lawton, also from Carrigtwohill. He died in 1961 in Carrigane Cottage, Carrigtwohill.
My research suggests that he had two older brothers, John 1872 and Richard 1873, and sister Johanna 1875.
The only marriage record I have been able to find for Patrick Fitzgerald and Mary Lawton is from 1871 Imogeela and has Patrick from Tullagreen, Carrigtwohill and Mary Lawton from Youngrove so I''m not sure that they are the Patrick and Mary I'm looking for.
Any and all information would be appreciated.

Ok...found those posts.
My search has me looking for information about Michael Patrick Fitzgerald born in 1907.
His parent were Patrick Fitzgerald and Nora Hartnett.
The 1911 census has Nora and Michael living with her parents, Michael and Ellen Hartnett in house 2 in Gortamucky, Carrigtohill...still working on Ellen's maiden name. Patrick, according to family stories, was in the merchant marines at the time of the census.
Patrick made visits to the family here in New York but lived Carrigane Cottage, Carrigtwohill at the time of his death.
It seems likely that many of the Fitzgeralds from Carrigtwohill are related so any and all information would be fantastic.

Good Afternoon,
I'm new to RootsChat and a bit confused.
I found the site while searching Google for Fitzgerald in Carrigtwohill, Cork.
What I found was several pages of chats but when I registered your post was virtually all that came up.
If you're still out there I'd love to share information.
