Hello there Celia,

I shall have to take a look at this! The information I have for this part of the family is rather sketchy, I'd love to share what I have. You can email me at Moderator Comment: email address removed to prevent spam and other abuses. Please use the secure personal message system to share email addresses and other personal material. Thank you. This is great. I feel like I want to hop on the next flight to Gatwick and drive up to Coventry. But I guess I'm going to have to wait.

Thanks Tricia,

Marvellous. This is great especially so as the family is living with the Grand Father on the wifes side. Lots of information!

What I would love to know now is where the Bright family were and who they were as described on the 1851 and 1841 census.

I am particularly delighted as my Mother had said that her Mothers family were an old Coventry family and that they had lived in and around Bailey Lane for a long time. Up until now I had only records tieing my GrandMother to Bailey Lane. In fact the last connection was in 1930 when my GrandMother was living at number 4 Bailey Lane, and here we have my Great Great Great Great Grand Father living at number 3 in 1861.

Thank you so much.

I have a Sarah Scroob who I believe was born in Coventry in 1855 and whose father was a William Scroob. I have no other information and would appreciate knowing more from the 1861 and 1871 census.

I also have a William Plummer born 1854 in Coventry whose Father John appears to have been born circa 1825. I would love more info on this family as well.

Thanks

I have a Sarah Ann Woodward born 1859 in Stoke Coventry to parents Ann and William Woodward. Any sign of her on the 1861 census?

Thanks for this Alison, sorry I didn't post a reply a bit sooner! This could well be him. I notice Maria Nichols was a Publican and my GGrandDad John Nicholls was reputed to like his beer! This beer association always carried an interest rather than an indulgence so perhaps it ties in with his family background.

I'll call my Dad up and he can network with the family. They will probably know but I think it may take some time to gather info.
