Thank you both  for your insight.
Neale has helped before, thinking the photo was just before ww2 and pretty much backing up what you are thinking oldohiohome.

Thank you both

Good Afternoon

I have a photo of my Grandfather and Grandmother. I have been told that it might have been taken somewhere in the 1930's . I'm trying to pin point a year to as near as possible. The photo looks like it was taken at an army camp. Photo attached.

Appreciate any help
Thank you

Thank you Macwil

The feature I'm referring to is at the side of my grandfathers arm, which you don't see in the picture , as to get the picture to upload I had to make it smaller.

Thank you Neal

You are right my Grandfather according to his army record started out in the territorial reserves , he enlisted in 1925  HLI 6th bn,  he finished his army  career with the pioneer corps in 1945.

Thankyou for the information about the uniform and army summer/ weekend  camps this gives me bit more clarity on why my grandmother and baby were there.
It is interesting that you say the photo/baby may be dated late 1930 around march time , if this is correct the baby must be my father as he was born march 1938 .

I have used google to try and understand army terminology and abbreviated terms to help me build a picture of my grandfathers army life.

Thankyou once again, your information has been very helpful. :)

 Thanks Jool

I had to snip the photo to get it to upload , however the original one looks like there is another piece of the photo missing ( maybe it got damaged)  I can see what looks like someone else arm , I don't know if it's a child or adult.

Thank you Rena , my thoughts too. I know through his army records that he attended camps for training I just don’t know what camp the photo was taken or what year, although with the help of root chatters . I know that it is somewhere in 1930’s.

Thank you Alan, narrowing it down to somewhere in the 1930’s is good. I thought it would be somewhere around this because of the baby , as I know they didn’t have their first baby until 1931 ( that’s unless they’re posing with someone else baby😏🤣. But it’s great that I can now place it pre 1939. Always great running my thought by others .
