This is a case of more rather than less. It is always preferable to refer to the Roman Catholic church in full, rather than just "Catholic". As a member of the Anglican Catholic Church I find myself at odds with those who describe me as a Catholic, having been baptised and confirmed into the Church of England and a subsequent member for 65 years!

The Catholic Apostolic Church had an interesting history, and believed in the second-coming of Christ. They originally had members of many "persuasions", including one I was looking at today "of the Jewish Nation". Some of the records are available on the web via S&N/BMD registers (a pay per view/subscription site), who have digitised many of the RG4+ series held by TNA. Most interesting!

Hope this helps.

I had spotted the question, but not the answer, and no it's not me. I've used Google maps to walk the road, but had no idea which building might have been the right one.

It's also very near the Collegiate Church of St Mary, which is where I was baptised! Nice to see the Zetland Arms has not changed its name.

The response from Warks RO was that all records have been destroyed.

Does anyone know the full and correct address of this nursing home? In existence in the 1940s, not known when it opened and closed. Who owned/ran it? Did it remain a private nursing/maternity home after the NHS started in 1948, or join the health service?

The records have already been destroyed.

Oh, yes, I also meant to say, the digitisation/filming process at LMA is reputed to be going very well, and very speedily. I don't have knowledge of the indexing or upload timetable.

PS thank you for the welcome!

Yes, still online, but not being added to.

I believe this project has stopped, the data will probably be found on Ancestry through the LMA/Guildhall digitisation project.
