I am not sure what you have found out since this post but I believe your Anne Gould had a sister Kate Turner as her mother Charlott remarried to John Turner. James must have died about 1868. As for the Thomas on Ellens marriage cert maybe an entry error or without seeing it I am guessing it could actually be James (the grandfather since it would seem Ellen did not have a legitimately married father) but not written clearly. I am fairly sure there are no Thomas'.
Anyway it would appear we share grandfathers. My GGG Grandfather is your GGGG Grandfather (Michael Gould) whose son was Nathaniel. Nathaniel had a brother William who was the father of your James Gould.
