My apologies to everyone.

I hit the large wall of frustration and walked away from research for awhile...a very long while.

I'd like to thank everyone for looking or this mysterious bungalow.

Maybe it was just a family nickname and not posted on the building itself.

Wonderful!

What I know for sure is the letter is post marked 30 Dec 1949 and my grand mother passed on 1 July 1950.

In the letter she talks about her face being swollen and going for more treatments in January.

This tiny little air mail letter is my only connection  and conversation from her.

I found a letter from my grandmother and her home address is on it in Hardwick.

I've scanned it but the file is too large to post on here & I don't know how to make it smaller.

The writing looks like st Neots Rd.

or PAT STAN?

What were your grandparents' first names?

CLARKE, Frank Charles (Charlie)
PARKER, May Elizabeth (May)

Well that doesn't help.   >:(  Sorry, it was just an idea. ::)
Wish you luck with it  :D

I know, but thank you for brain storming.

Maybe it was the name of their two favourite kitty cats!
 ???  ;)  :-\

***Side note - sent an email to the Hardwick Parish council and received a reply; they are forwarding it to someone who specializes in this sort of info.

Well, my ears may have misheard what my cousin said, so we'll go with "Pakstan."

I have no idea what is the proper name for "the old main road" through Hardwick, so I don't know how I could "walk" through using google maps.

Contact the Parish council ~ that is a very good idea!

I have gone to the 1939 register but uncertain how many credits I want to buy at this time.

Thank you to everyone for your insight.

Nothing in the Probate search.

Not surprised.
My grandparents never purchased a home.

My cousin shared a memory of our Grandparents and wondering if it rings a bell with anyone.

He said they lived in a bungalow (named Pakistan) along the old main road in the village of Hardwick.
They lived there until our Grandmothers' death 01 July 1950.

Fingers crossed !

My apologies.

I listed the info about my grandparents to show the solid consistent info I have.

I thank you for finding the name, Jessie M Stothers, as now I hope I can more info about her and the Adams Sweet Shop.

Sadly, my Dad's siblings (all but one) have passed on.
My Auntie Irene is 94 now but dementia has grabbed hold of her.

I am truly grateful for any tidbits of information.
