Hi

Thanks for your reply. My Hugh McDonald died Nantwich, Cheshire a month before 1841 Census. That's the dilemma I have had for years - no idea where he was born.  He did have a son Hugh who did show up on the 1841 Census in Nantwich.  Is this the Hugh you found in 1841?

Many thanks for looking into this.

regards
Penny

Thanks so very much, Mary Graham is the one, son Robert's address correct and he's present at death.

I have tried all combinations of Graham but never would have tried "Ge..."

This could help with other missing Graham family.

Thomas, I will keep looking, but now I know he was married.

I am SO pleased!  Another little mystery solved, thanks again.

Antrim / Thomas Graham d 1872 aged 33yrs Belfast Registration

Belfast Newsletter 29 July 1872 has a death notice, "Graham-July 28 at 3 Steammill Lane, Gamble Street, Belfast, Thomas Graham, aged 33 years".  No parents, nothing more.

Ancestry has Civil Reg Death Index 1872 for Thomas.

LDS have nothing, have traced the film number from Family Search and Ancestry at their local research centre

Irish Gen has nothing for him and I wondered where to go next to establish more detail.

Also have his possible mother, Mary Graham, similar issue.
Belfast Telegraph 22 January 1886. "Graham-January 21 at Budore, Mary wife of Joseph Graham"

Nothing on Irish Gen or Ancestry. Any ideas on next step?

Many thanks

Thanks Sam.  Through my Graham research I do know about all the people you mentioned. Have never been able to link them to my family.

I have a number of reasonably solid facts that support Dundrod as being important to my family. A Robert Graham b?1758 d 28 Oct 1858 Dundrod left in his will 5 acres to Joseph Graham, "my nephew". This Joseph is my relative.

Belfast Newsletter Nov 15 1858 has his death notice, along with his son, Dr Robert Graham who died the 25 Oct 1858 of cancer.

Joseph Graham is on the Griffiths 1862 Budore with his 5 acres and his children on their marriage records give Budore, Parish of Tullyrusk as their residence. The John Graham (d 1909) that I mentioned in my first post is one of Joseph's sons.

This family intermarried with Nutt, Irwin, Milliken, Magee, Lewis and more families in this area. Many related burials in Dundrod which I have.

I do appreciate your help with this.

Thanks everyone for your help. I will pursue all avenues you have kindly offered.

I'm hoping that the vicar is kindly in Dundrod.... I'll try him first as I'm not located in Ireland.

Regards

Thanks gaffy.

If John Graham d 1909 was buried in the John Graham Legoniel family burying ground how would I go about finding that out. I have a few missing Grahams, including John's wife Margaret.

I'm familiar with the Grahams from Carnaugless however, have not been able to link the families.

kind regards

Have a John Graham death notice from Belfast Telegraph. John died March 17 1909 in Ballysillan and for interment in family burying ground, Dundrod.
How do I find out who is buried in this "family burying ground".
Have looked at Dundrod Presbyterian Church Memorials and done a search but nothing shows up.

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Thanks Aghadowey for your comments and information.
As stated earlier on this post, I am new to Irish records, geography and Counties.

Rachel had no date of birth on the headstone, just date of death and age. I have seen it.
And yes, dates can be troublesome. Walter, Rachel's husband was a lay preacher and well know in Avondale, Ak where they both died. Family legend was always that Rachel had not been truthful about her age. We can only imagine that family papers came to light after her death and hence the age on her headstone. I really doubt they would have left her headstone engraved with incorrect age.... but...

My initial information came from Ros Davies surname site where I found Joseph Graham b1807 as child of Thomas Graham and Margaret Dunn. Hallmark sent me the death details for Joseph and he died at Ballycarngannon, Drumbo, 5 July 1880 aged 73. I only had the death notice Belfast Newsletter and it said, died at his residence Boardmills.

Joseph had a brother Robert b 1809 (from Ros Davies) and he died Idaho 1893.
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/68354951

This memorial links his parents to Thomas Graham and Margaret Dunn. My DNA links to Robert's family in USA.

It's nearly midnight down under and I need to sleep. The information I have may not be perfect but this is the first time I have had anything really concrete to start with in Ireland.

I will be investigating all information given to me today.

Thank you

Penny
