Hello Stalbridge and aghadowey

Great to see your postings of the last few days.

You have come to the same conclusion as myself. That our Fogarty and Parkinson relations came from Graiguefrehane.

I have recently been in touch with a Murray Tomkins who is also related to the Parkinsons in Tipperary. He got a lot of information from a book written by Elizabeth Scheiding mainly about her Langford and Westman relations but includes Parkinsons. I cannot get hold of a copy so he has promised to look into it and get back to me. I'll let you know the results.

I have been researching the family for a number of years now and have quite a lot of BMD certificates I could share with you. I have also written a family history of the Fogarty's (I have also recently started a family history reseach business of my own). I could let you have a copy but it's much more fun to do it yourself first and then compare it with others and fill in the gaps.
I also have some family photo's I could share. I have been in contact with a number of other Fogarty relation there are quite a few! Philip and Jane had 16 children (four died young and I'm not certain about Therea born c.1889).

You can contacted me via Ancestry. This site is too public.

Hope to speak to you soon.

Hi Karen,

Sorry you have had to wait for a reply. As you can see from the posting dates I don't visit this site very often.

I've had a bit of a break from the Fogarty family to concentrate on the Gore's.

I've got lots of BMD certs for the fogarty family, census returns and photo's. Some of these came from the Telford line who have been very helpful. I've written a family history as we know it from Jane and Patrick's arrival in Liverpool up to their son Patrick's death in 1915 on the Somme.

What is your connection and do you have any stories or photo's that could help solve the mystery of where in Tipperary our Fogarty descendants came from.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Regards.

Cath.

Hi Kathy

Sorry it has yet again been a while before we make contact again.
I've been away for the summer. I tend to do family history stuff on dark winter nights.

I nearly didn't reply as your user name is too similar to 'joker'. However, you talk of James so I guess your okay.

You can contact me more securely via ancestry or genesreuntied then we can email and I'll send you lots of old photo's.

Hi Kath

I hope you get this as it's been a while since you posted your reply. Fantastic to make contact. I've always known Philip and Jane came from Tipperary but never knew where?
Yes I did know that Jane was 13 and Philip 15 when they married I have copies of their marriage and death certificates. They lied about their ages because although it was legal for them to marry at that age (the age of consent was 12 for a girl and 15 for a boy until 1929) they would have to have permission from their perants. Which they didn't have.
Did you know they had 14 children although, not all survived?
Philip and Jane had a son called Patrick Joseph Fogarty b.1878 (he died in the first World War) I am his son Robert's granddaughter. Patrick married Jessie Hughes (she later remarried William Furlong).

I hope to hear from you soon.

Hello All

I would be interested to hear from anyone connected to
Phillip Fogarty b. 1851 in County Tipperary.
Jane Parkinson b. 1857 in County Tipperary

Phillip was a farm labourer and Jane was a farmer's daughter. They ran off to Liverpool, of all places, married and went on to have 14 children.

Any information would be great.

Many thanks for tour interest.

Hi All

I am intersested to hear from who may be connected to the Gore or Balshaw families in Liverpool. My lot come from around Bootle and Litherland. Going back into the 18th Century they are farming folk from the Ormskirk area.

Many thank for your interest.

Hello All
I'm looking for any information and census lookup for John Hughes and family in Bagillt. John was a Carter by occupation. A nice lady in New Zealand sent me details from the 1851 census but I need more detail. Can anyone look them up on the 1861 and 1871 census for me please.

John b. 1823 Holywell
Charlotte b. 1823 "
Thomas b.1845 "
John b. 1847"
Robert b.1850 "

I think there was a later son George.

Are there any other Hughes from Holywell and Bagillt out there?

Many thanks

Cath.
