Family History Beginners Board / Re: Charles Leonard Fright 1876 -1941

hi
Thanks for the interest everyone.
Yes he was only ten in 1886, it was his father Charles who got married the second time having been widowed the year before. Charles L was married to Amy Giles for life he - died in 1944 and she three years later.
I have lots of information about Charles Leonard - even a photograph - but am stuck on where his legs went !
Things get complicated when the same given name runs through the family and Charles Leonard Fright was the third attempt at getting one to stay alive for more than a year or so.

Does anyone have any reference to charles leonard fright  1876-1941.
He was my grandad and I remember him in a wheelchair because he had no legs from the knees down.
I've seen a reference to a portrait photo of him but can't find who has it.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Bev
Wonder what relation that makes us.
I have a fairly comprehensive tree on Genes Reunited. Do you have one on there too ? If not then I could send you a private message on here with a .ged file if you like.

The two girls named Pleasant were the same girl. Pleasant Johncock married John Fright  ( my 7x Gt Grandfather ) in 1707. So really the name change was a bit of a mixed blessing.

Hi there Natterjack72

I read with interest that you found John Fright born 1685 in Elmstone. He and Pleasant Johncock are as far back as I have got in the Fright family. I couldn't find their birth dates anywhere. I have their marriage date.  The death dates are: John 1747 and Pleasant 1741. St Nicholas at Wade, St Nicholas. They are both on the same page.
Can you tell me where John's birthdate is recorded please.
Kind regards
David Fright ( b 1933 )

Hi there Tony and Bev

@Tony, it looks like the Abraham buried in 1784 will be the one that Bev has, born in 1711. This ties in nicely with Elizabeth Drury being buried in the same place. One of the offspring, John, born in 1746 is on my tree and is shown as married to Sarah Goodgroom.

@Bev You have given me the parents of Abraham who was as far as I had got in that direction: John and Pleasant ( what a lovely name ). I can now research them and hopefully get enough to include them in my tree. Any details you have of them would be really helpful.

Thank you both very much for your help.
Kind regards
David

Hi Tony and Bev
Thank you both, I shall get back to you when I'm back home after the weekend but you have both been helpful. I did find that 'my' Abraham's wife Elizabeth's maiden name was Drury. There's also other bits that go together which I will check with my notes next week.

I''m so glad I found this site.
Kind regards
David

Hi
I am new to this forum and am looking for any details of Abraham Fright born some time around 1710 married to Elizabeth ?
They were the parents of John Fright 1746 - 1794, married to  Sarah ?. Who in turn, were the parents of John Fright 1787 - 1830 who I have tracked back to myself born in 1933

Any help will be appreciated
Regards
David
