Hi rootschatters, I have just received a marriage cert for my great uncle Colin Aubrey William Dare who the family lost contact with when they came to Australia in the 50's, on the cert it has his WW2 service no, I'm wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction to find more info on him it states that he was staying at Buller barracks when he married 28 Aug 1948 and his no was T/21183380, C.S.M, RASC. cheers Merideth

Hello Maggie, I'm related to James Hepburn Snr through his son James Jr B1799 M Ann McMillian if you would like to PM me I have Certs for many of this Hepburn line.  The family believe we may have ended up on the west coast after the battle of Culloden and rather than risk arrest on returning to the East stayed in Argyll. Cheers Merideth

Hello Keith, just as a side line to this thread, the Cowal Games shop on Hillfoot st was my GGrandfather and Grandfathers plumbers shop, they both were called Hugh Stewart and both served on the games committee.  Several years ago my mother and aunt presented a prize at the games in honor of my grandfather after he had passed away so I would love to hear about your trip when you get back. Cheers Merideth (Australia)

Hi Ann, I had no luck with the Oban Times website but I have had a message from someone who has a copy of the content of his obituary and hopefully a copy of his will, thank you for the hint anyway, cheers Merideth
