London and Middlesex / Re: Bini, Binney, Binnie or Watson? Yorkshire & Middlesex
« on: Thursday 01 January 15 13:51 GMT (UK)  »
Sorry if this is a repeat post. I'm new on here and I don't think my last reply to this thread worked.
Basically, I think Charles Alfred Watson is my grandfather on my mother's side, from his second marriage. There are some discrepancies such as year and place of birth, but everything else seems to match what I know of him. I have some photos of him, his shop, his parents and siblings and possibly his first wife and daughter, these may help to check if it is the same man.
Andrew.

Hi, I've just come across this thread whilst trying to find more information about my elusive grandfather Charles Alfred Watson. I don't know many hard-facts about him, but there seems to be a lot of circumstantial evidence to link my Charles Alfred Watson to yours.
According to my mum he was born on 21/12/1887 not 1881.
Thought to be born in Sheffield.
Was a pawnbroker in Salford.
Had a brother Thomas.
Was married for a second time to my grandmother Annie Lawrence in 1928.
Lived in Oldham.
Had two children in the second marriage.
Was known to have had at least a daughter from his first marriage.
He served in the first world war.
He died in 1945.

I'd appreciate it if you have any further information that might prove or disprove this link.
Many Thanks,
Andrew.
