Is that Haldimand near Hamilton? and Walpole Island? Walpole Island is just south of me.
I looked at by our post and saw you have "Miles" in Berkshire..so do I! Mary,  Nathaniel & co. Married to Turners  to (alias Ferriers) ended up out west Canada.. MyTurners ended up in Hamilton area..anything familiar?
Always hunting..keep us posted. If you are driving east JDC would be in your path up top.

Jeff..is your trip still on? Researching  anyone special? I'm an hour from London and can give basic road directions. Hamilton is home territory and much family in the area. A group of us met in Toronto a few years ago for lunch..it was great!

Stuart

Sorry for the delay (I didn't get a notice..have to fix that).

Another Rettie descendant and I have just made contact and are trying to sort out George 1716 as well. I take it you can see all the details on my tree..your thoughts? Its my first serious venture into my Rettie line since I knew I had a good bit of it in hand. I have to "sort" the families from the IGI once more for myself. Margret Ann Rettie/Forbear was my Great Grandmother, Merscedda Ellen Forbear Grandma, Thirza Shakelton was my mother..and ta dah!! :-)

Feel free to pm me and join the email exchange with us...meanwhile I will invite my "cousin" to join RC here.

Jinks, Stuart and Windsor..I have just found this thread on Rettie..and have most of these people on my tree with some degree of similarity. My sources were from a tree "handed down" to me from a 2nd cousin researched through LDS many years ago and the Rettie Family Bible (Alexander Rettie and Margaret Mair) which I have. My tree on Ancestry is "Shakelton-Turner" and I am "PamWong74"

I just wanted to post, say hello and see if anything is new. It has been awhile since I looked at this line but had an inquiry yesterday from someone new..new year, new research, time to take a comb over what I have again..don't you just love the naming patterns!! :-(

Cheers from Canada
