I had contacted a man of Ancestery who had George William Innes in his tree.

His wife was related to his wife.

He tells me the family know Albert Henry Innes, 79 years old,  is still alive and living in Aberdeen,  but no knowledge of where.

So the search continue

Any ideas of how I could find him

Regards Jenn

For  research purposes here in Australia, we can access the National Arvices of Australia  and search war records.

Does the UK also have this research tool so as I can see if George served in WWw2

That means that he lived in Aberdeen at that time.

The attached looks relevant.

Thank you for that information.

I am feeling, without proof, That Albert Henry Innes could very well be the Albert I am looking for.

The email he has sent was in 2013 so it possible he is still alive as he would be 79 years old.
He included an email which I responded but no answer and a phone number, but sadly no actual address.

I should state that I am doing this research for my good friend whose grandfather was James Inness after he came to Australia.

Elizabeth and young George are on  the 1911, 1921,census living with her family.
What were the names of her parents? Were there any siblings listed in either census?
Parents George and Margaret Pirie Farmer
Siblings Anne, Alexander,  John

There was an email sent to a city in Australia from an Albert Innes looking for information on his grandfather  Andrew Inness.  So this indicates that George had a child called Albert.
How do you know that Andrew Innes didn't have any other children who could have been the father of Albert?

He left Scotland in 1909 no record or any other obvious  children

Did Elzabeth Pirie marry?   Did George Marry or cohabit  and have children.
George John Innes died in 1991  mother listed as PiriE St Turriff.
You would need to get a copy of his death certificate, which should name his parents, including his mother's married name if she did marry, and his wife/wives. You can't see this online as it's less than 50 years ago, but you can order a copy from Scotland's People.

Will the death certificate show children?
No.

Quote
Would a local newspaper carry death or funeral details?
It might, but accessing it online may not be easy as it's relatively recent. The most likely newspaper would be the Aberdeen Press and Journal, or maybe the Turriff Advertiser.

Thanks
Does the death certificate state where buried please
