Hi Could you help with my Wells family  ???

 I didn't know that Wells might be connected to the gypsie families, but saying that I remeber going to goose fair as a little girl and being taken inside a beautiful caravan it took my breath away with the fine china & mirrors it was a cousin as I remember, he owned the Walzter ride

Any way my Wells family I think came fromr Long Buckby Leicestershire
I would love to find out  more
Regards
Charlie    :)

Wells researchers can be found at http://www.wells-genealogy.org.uk/wells.htm

The main Wells Gypsy families came out of Hampshire:
http://www.wells-genealogy.org.uk/wells1.htm

We were contacted by a Wells group on the east coast of the USA but have now lost contact with them.

There were trading links with Wells gypsies selling horses to the US possibly out of Liverpoool.

We have put up a page for Joseph's travelling theatre:

which links off the Yorkshire Wells researchers page:

Hello Sandy
I do have a little more, on a peice of paper that I found shortly after Mum's death, concerned Samuel ;
 EDITH HOLLAND sister, not known if it is married name or a maiden name.
There is aslo reference  to his Mother being married before and the name DANES wrote down.
 and a scribbled mention of Kings Lynn.
He was  a Catholic, and as I said before an Army private if that helps any, sorry it is not much to go on I know as I have tried till it has drove me insane, but I thought maybe a fresh mind and all that, there is no one to ask and he was not a very kind man to me or my siblings, we never knew anything about him as we could never allowed to go in his house, & he never ever spoke to us, only Mum was able to go in, why I have no idea, I think it must have had something to do with father because we were not able to tell him that we gone with Mum to visit.
But I need to trace him for Mum's memory as I promised her I would find her family
