The graves in the old churchyard were moved to the cemetery in Old Charlton Road when the leisure centre was built on the site next to the church ruins in 1976.

Wales / David Evans of Ystradgynlais

David EVANS was the owner of a foundry in Ystradgynlais and, apparently, an Alderman.
His daughter, Harriet Maude (known as Maude), married my grandfather's cousin, Edward Albert (Bert) BEER.
I am trying to find out more about her family to add to the story of Bert's life.
Maude was born on 14th August, 1885. I have her mother's maiden name as LLEWELLYN, but I have found other names suggested on FamilySearch.
Bert was in the army, but transferred to the reserves before they were married on 29th October, 1912. They obtained permission to emigrate to Australia, where their daughter, Annie Gwendoline (Gwen) was born in 1913 but, at the outbreak of war, he was recalled to the regiment and was killed in 1917. Gwen gave me the information about her mother's death in Sydney.

Yes - Christ Church was the only one in "Hougham in Dover"

Does anyone know perhaps if there are photographs available of particular graves in cemetaries?

I don't know if you were ever able to obtain a photo of the grave. I live in Dover and would be happy to take one for you if you have the approximate location. Was it St James' Cemetery?

Church Hougham is a village between Dover and Folkestone (there is also West Hougham nearby). The parish of Hougham originally stretched as far as the bottom of the Folkestone Road in Dover - almost the centre of town. Christ Church (now gone) was built opposite the old Dover Priory (now Dover College) to support the community that had spread up the road to Maxton. That was then the parish of Hougham in Dover.
