Norfolk Lookup Requests / Re: Info wanted on Susanah Alborough
« on: Tuesday 01 April 25 13:25 BST (UK)  »
"Yarmouth is 280 miles away from Forncett."
I assume the Yarmouth in question would be Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, about 30 miles from Forncett St. Mary.
FWIW Susannah's sister is my gg grandmother. Also am interested to know if she married and if any issue.
A Susannah Alborough, spinster, died 13 Dec 1916 in Southsea, Portsmouth. Probate to Herbert Lovell, commercial clerk.
But as well as the possible Rudd marriage, a Susannah Alborough married Jan 1859 at Henstead, Norfolk. Can't see spouse's name.

Surrey / Re: Gawen Harris Nash will dated 1785

"The Gawen Nash who married Sarah Luttman 1747 was of Windsor Berkshire. He is the one who died 1753 Petworth."

It is stated that his will was made at 11 o'clock on Wednesday 10 June 1746, so his wife Sarah Luttman that he married on 23 Jan 1747 must have been his third wife.

Walter Kevis, who operated as the portrait photographer in Petworth between 1877 to 1908, took this (undated) photo of "Young Tanner, North Street, Petworth":

Hope that's useful.

I am pleased to say that I have received your reply, for which many thanks.
I look forward to hearing further.
My interest is because I have recently acquired the building in Petworth that Walter Kevis had as his studio and tobacconists. I am intrigued as to how Walter had the capital to buy the building and build the studio.

Hi. I am researching this Kevis family.
James's brother Walter was also a tobacconist from 1877, in Petworth, but more notably he was photographer.
I would be interested in any further information on the family.
What is your link to the family?
