Samuel Alexander Bell was a matchmaker his brother Richard was my 3 x Grt Grandfather - at the moment I don't know the connection between Richard Bell of Lucifer Matches and Samuel Bell - I do have some information that I can copy and supply by private email if interested.  Samuel died in England and I have a copy of his Will - his brother Richard emigrated to Australia and settled in South Australia.

Thanks Trish for your response, I realise these are old posts but as I only started doing my Family Tree a couple of years ago, I thought that I'd leave the message just in case Ann still keeps track of responses on RootsChat or anyone else who is interested or has information could contact me... My Grt Grt Grt Grandfather was William Glover Humphries, his second son, my Grt Grt Grandfather William John Humphries married Ellen Mann Jeffery b 9 July 1843 in Tavistock, Devon, England (not Helen Jeffrey buried at Nairne), arriving on the "Hooghly" on 19 April 1855, they are both buried at a Cemetery in Glen Osmond on cnr Pridmore Ave! Their eldest son William John Humphries married Rachel Charlotte Renfrey and one of their sons Colin is my Grandfather.  I have the marriage details for William Glover Humphries and Lucy Gill both buried in Nairne.  If you google "William Glover Humphries" you will find other RootsWeb chats regarding the descendants of William and Lucy Humphries.  As the family is big, I won't be listing all the descendants of William and Lucy - I found it very easy to trace the Humphries family since they arrived in South Australia and am still trying to confirm that John Glover Humphries was in fact William's father???  I'm happy to answer questions via private email, if you'd like more information
