I have a James Reid born 1825 in Dalry, Scotland on my tree.  He married Margaret (unknown maiden name) and they had two children:  Lilias and Marrion - I wonder if it's the same ppl you are referring too.  I do not have a lot of info, but if you are willing to share what you have I'd appreciate it.

Hi

Thanks for replying!! Yes, my Margaret was born 1838  :D  She is my gg grandmother.
What other info. do you have on her.  I've not got very far with this branch - maybe due to my in-experience or it is just difficult to trace maybe because some of the Foulis people spelt their surname Fowlis.  I'd appreciate any info. you can share with me.  I'm so excited to have received your reply.
Thanks
Kind Regards

Hi
If you are still happy to do look ups.  I'd be interested if you could look for any Foulis (or spelt Fowles) in Balmerino, Fife, and also a Janet Henderson b. 1795 and d. c1817 in Balmerino, Fife.  Her husband was John Foulis b. 1794.

Kind Regards
Audrey

Scotland / Cooper/Cowan
« on: Monday 10 October 05 08:05 BST (UK)  »
This is all new to me, and I'm already stuck.  My Grandmother's (Margaret Shaw) parents are Andrew Cooper (born around 1877/8), he died 10th Aug. 1947 and Lillias Cowan (born around 1888/9), she died 3rd May 1948 (both from Glasgow).  Andrew Cooper's first wife was Elizabeth S Lang.  My problem is that I don't know how to get back further.  I have very little information as I left Scotland in 1981 and now living in South Africa, and my grandmother and grandfather have since passed away.  Is there somewhere in Scotland that I could write to and request birth/marriage/death certificates?  Or is there anyone out there that could help me?
Thanks

???  I've recently started working on my family tree, and have got so far and no more, I'm in South Africa now but originally from Scotland.  I've reached a dead-end after my grandmother MARGARET FOULIS COOPER born around 1914, and her parents LILLIAS REID COWAN (born around 1888/9) and ANDREW COOPER (born around 1877/8).  I'd appreciate any advice/help or even better if anyone has any information on my relatives.
