Thankyou. I think Richard GEORGE was a fisherman as I googled mining near Mullion and found that there was only copper and china clay mining in that area. Cheers, Jan

Also from the compilation by John Hannibal GEORGE - "It was not until the arrival of three Irish Sisters-" - which makes them sound like nuns - "-that his urges prodded him along when he wooed and won the heart of pretty Rebecca Kennedy one of the three Irish Sisters all the way from Glenleah, Donegal County, Ireland." I have a booklet compiled in 1977 by John Hannibal GEORGE on a brief history of Peter GEORGE from his birth in Cornwall in 1833, his arrival in NZ and marriage to Rebecca KENNEDY and their descendants until 1977. It is a warbling tale quote "Peter GEORGE was born in the village of Clare, Parish of Mullion, County Cornwall, England. His father, Richard GEORGE and his wife Avis had a sizeable family, and in 1833 to them a son was born, to whom they gave the name of Peter. A farm home called 'Garrow' was the early Cornwall family residence but Richard, young Peter's father was a tin miner, and this son followed in his footsteps, in the tin-mines of Cornwall."
I'm not sure where the compiler got his information, but as there are many incorrect entries, I decided to ask my friends on rootschat to help me find a bit more information. Thanks for all the feedback, Jan

Thankyou thankyou for your replies. A bit of a jigsaw puzzle but will try to sort it out. My information has Richard GEORGE as a tin miner and his son Peter b 1833 as a tin miner also. Their family home was called "Garrow". Any information on this appreciated.

Hi friends out there. My topic now is my ggg grandparents. Information I have is that Peter GEORGE born in the village of Clare, parish Mullion, county Cornwall in 1833. Parents Richard - I would like to find his parents - and Avis - I would like to find her parents - and surname.
My ggg grandmother is Rebecca KENNEDY, one of 3 sisters from Glenleah, Donegal county, Ireland.
Rebecca and Peter were married in Teviot, Central Otago NZ in 1869. She was 22 so that makes her birthdate about 1847. I would like to find her parents.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, and happy searching, Jan

Thankyou all for the information. Did David and Agnes Stewart have children other than Helen? How would I go about tracing them?

Thankyou to all who have replied to my request. Sounds like Helen didn't marry, so now I am interested in the father, one James Stark, son of William Stark, in 1861 living at 5, Rumbleton, Berwickshire Scotland. Does he have descendants from a marriage?
