Durham / Re: Methodist/Non-Conformist Records in Medomsley/Shotley Area circa 1760
« on: Tuesday 28 August 12 18:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi
I've found the same thing with possible non-conformists and Minsteractres.

my present research is Surtees and Usher families, especially a Mary Surtees born bet 1700 abd 1713.  I have her marriage in 1732 but there are at least 5 possibilities for baptisms.  She marries Robert Elrington at Bywell St Peter but there are connections with Shotley and Minsteracres.  I think they lived at Unthank.

Any information about any Mary Surtees in this region would be appreciated.

Hi

My relations in New Zealand are descended from Sarah Jane Williams born 1850 in Abingdon to James Williams and Matilda Cook.

She married Charles Alfred Fisher in 1874.  I think she had 3 sons and my Great Aunt married one of them and emigrated to New Zealand in about 1909/1910

I've come across the Judge in my searches

Hi Bill

your tree sounds very interesting.

I have a Sparrowhawk marring into the Williams family in the early 18th centuary to a Hannah Williams born 1704, but no further details. This info was from a cousins family in New Zealand.

Hi

Please could someone chech for  a George Saunders/Sanders born about 1809.

I believe that he may be son of William Saunders & Ann Symmonds who I think were married in Upton Bishop in 1908.

Thanks for that info.  my problem is that Wigbury does not seem to be a surname.  I'm trying to find out more information about the couple but have drawn a blank.

I know that a Joseph and Mary BADGER HAD CHILDREN CHRISTENED IN BROUGHTON HACKETT in the period 1818 to 1823 but don't know whether these are the same family.

Possibly Wigbury could be Wedgebury or Wedgeberrow or something similar

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Re: Gunnings of Cold Ashton

Hi

I've found a few more leads on the census.

Please could someone look up the christening of a Cornelius Gunning about 1785 Cold Ashton.  He appears to have married a Martha Baker in abt 1806 and had several children.  He was living in Swainswick, with several other Gunning households, possibly sons - Charles b abt 1806, Thomas abt 1813, John abt 1810 and Elias abt 1817.

The other person I am interested in is William b 1796 to 1801 with a mother Jane b about 1762 again in Swainswick i think in 1841

Herefordshire Lookup Requests / Saunders/Sanders Upton Bishop

Hi

I'm trying to find the Christening of a George Sanders or Saunders.  The census records say he was born in Upton Bishop in 1809 or thereabouts but I can't find any trace of a family with that surname there.

A marriage there between 1800 andf 1809 for a Saunders would also be much appreciated.
