:)Thanks again Rosie I have just realised that Ann Boldy's husband Joseph had a sister called Ann and she was the one who was married to James Starkey. Joseph's wife Ann was Hirst before she got married. Very happy now and i will keep searching now to see if I can find Joseph and Ann's family so I can go further back.

Thanks again Rosie. That information has helped with ann boldy because I kept getting her linked with a James starkey for some reason.
Thankyou  :) :)

Thank you ever so much Rosie. This information has been very helpful. I guess i will not find out who jame's father was as he was born before elizabeth's marriage to James. I tried to search for Ann Boldy ( his grandmother) but had no joy. At least I now know her burial date so I will try from that. Again thankyou very much.

Hi Everyone,
I am relatively new to this site and I was wondering if anyone could help me in my search. My Great great Grandad James Boldy was born in Norton in abt 1866. His mother is listed as Elizabeth Ann Boldy at birth but I cannot seem to find her after that. I think on the 1871 census she is down as Ann Boldy with her 3 children and mother Ann Boldy. I am trying to find info on any of these people, any help would be grateful. Thankyou  :)

Hello everyone,
I am interested in finding any information about the Boldy family from the wombwell area. I have been researching for family history for the past 18 mths and today I visited wombwell cemetery and found the grave of my great great grandparents (James and Eliza Boldy). I am now looking for information about their children- Thomas, Annie Elizabeth, Mary (my great grandmother) who married John Smith, George, Louisa, Leonard, Willie and Irvin. George I do know is on the headstone of his parents and died in france in 1916 in the first world war.

Hello to you all, I am new to all this ancestry stuff. I have been doing my family tree on ancestry and have come to my third great grandmother violet bonside (burnside) born 1842. Her parents were Edward bonside (burnside) and Ann Bonside (burnside). Her siblings include susannah (born abt 1841), william (born abt1842), Hannah (born abt 1843), ambrose ( born abt 1846), ann (born abt 1846) edwin (born abt 1847) , edward ( born abt 1848), richard (born abt 1855) and isabella ( born abt 1858).
I have been struggling because i was looking for bonsides and on some census they are burnsides. It was one census where the occupation of edward was entered as pottery/ glass hawker and ann was entered as hawker. I will admit i had to google the meaning of hawker to find out.
If anyone can help me fill in the details of the family it would be really appreciated and any photographs would be fantastic. I have read several posts before replying and I am sure that you will be able to help me. Thankyou very much for reading my post. I hope someone will reply. :)

Our family is from near here and this theophilus was my fathers great grandad. we were surprised to find that the caddicks came from Dudley as my father thought they were all miners from yorkshire (barnsley area) :)
