hi Alyson,Sorry don't recall your family name.We lived at 41 Broadmere, so quite a way from yourselves.I went to Parkside Primary School, in Heaton Park, which was an old RAF building, schoolrooms round a square courtyard, quite draughty!!! There was always in winter a roaring fire! I was there 1954 to 1960, and remember names from my last year.Teachers were mIss Jennings, Miss Hampson, and Mrs Mawdsley and a male teacher (can't remember his name)

Our name was Makin, and neighbours were,Fowlers, Days, Dewhurst,Standerwicks, Wilkinsons and Sedons. My best friend was Lorraine Sedon, and we spent hours roller skating around the estste.  Also was in the Guides at St Margarets then at the Heaton Park Methodist (better  looking scouts)!!!!!!

Regards,
Carolyn

hi was at parkside cp approx 1949 to 1953. Have photo of last class, teacher Mrs Mawdesley (not on photo) also photos taken in front and back garden of 41 Broadmere, next door called Day who emigrated to Aussie on assisted passage , they were called Pound Pommies!!! Also on drive were Fowlers, Christine Oswald and jean. Few friends and myself did gym displays!!! in back garden, charging a penny, with the money bought some bottles of lemonade. Yes the bonfires were magic, every one rallied round, treacle toffee, baked potatoes, parkin, by the bucket load.
Sure headteacher was miss Hampson, have her autograph and a poem she wrote. Happy days at Parkside cp. Does anyone have any photos? or any other names come to mind. Best wishes.
