Hi Jenny, It appears that this Michael Mahoney would not be related to your great great grandfather directly if your g g grandfather was born in Cork. No shortage of Mahoneys coming to New South Wales in the mid to early eighteen hundreds.  Thanks for your reply. Good luck searching.

Hi Jenny,  This is probably not connected to your question but I have a Michael Mahoney acting as a witness at the wedding of my Great great grandmother in New South Wales in 1858.  My Great great grandmother was from Cork.  Any chance of a connection here?
 Cheers Ian

Hi Harriets,  I am still researching the Cottrells in New South Wales and their connections. A couple of questions.  Are you able to give me a link to the Burridge Family site if it is not a closed site.  If it is I understand.  Also do you have in your extended ancestry any O'Neills. in particular an Edward O'Neill and his wife Charlotte. Her maiden name was O'Brien.  Cheers, Ian
