I forgot to mention that if anyone is interested in testing the male McGeorge DNA at familytreedna.com to
search for the McGeorge name, then buy the kit . This way it is under the 'umbrella' of the McGeorge study

I am still on the hunt for all McGeorge names.  I am attaching the marriage for William MacGeorge who married Esther Alcock, 22 Dec 1806 at Greystock, Cumberland, LDS film 90623.  I was hoping that it may say where William came from, well it did but it was the next parish - Castle Sowerby. So that doesn't help to find his birth place.

I have started a McGeorge DNA project in hope to link some of the families together.  It requires a direct McGeorge male to have the swab taken, quite painless, but a tad expensive I must agree. However at the moment the familytreedna.com  have a special until the end of December 2014. The cost is $US129. 
I do urge any McGeorge males to have the Y-DNA37 test so we can build up the database and try to connect the families.  The results do not say that you are third cousins, but can say that you are connected to another person and then it is up to us to find the link.  I had to get my male McGeorge cousin to represent our family ( I am a mere female)

Do you know when and where he died?
