My Great grandfather deserted his family (Ireland) to Southport, Lancashire for a woman, in the 1950s. No idea if he married her or had any more kids. No one ever spoke about it. I'm determined to find out.

He died some time in 1975, Southport, Lancashire. William James Magee, born 1908 Co. Down. His son, was his next of kin and had to go over from N Ireland.

I have no idea if he was buried in England or N Ireland, assuming England logistically. Where could i find out about burials in Southport etc in 1975?

I know its a bit later on, but the parish of derriaghy has a long history of the Alderdice surname. Might be worth a look.

This has something interesting about Alderdices http://lisburn.com/books/huguenots/huguenots_5.html

And also you could try this:

I know, a welsh website. But its free and they actually have A LOT of articles about lisburn. Might be worth a shot.

Hi,
I'm obsessed with genealogy and I've gathered a lot of expertise on irish and northern irish genealogy through my own research. Recently discovered that I am related to Brian Boru, which is pretty cool. Now, I would love to help others and I am doing so through fiverr. I'm thorough and passionate about genealogy. Any questions? just message me.

Northamptonshire Lookup Requests / Re: Samuel Alderman poss Rothwell c1667

According to several family trees on ancestry, he was born about 1662 to George Alderman died in 1707 in Rothwell. Cannot find a solid birth record, he might have been born in another parish.

England / Re: Please help me find my SMITH ancestors

Hello,

thanks for all the replies. I ordered the marriage certificate, which names Robert John Smith's father as Jesse Smith. There isn't a father listed for Louisa Smith, would that mean that she doesn't know him? ???

England / Please help me find my SMITH ancestors
« on: Tuesday 17 March 15 23:05 GMT (UK)  »
I have not been able to find very much information on my Smith ancestors beyond the 1901 and 1911 census, and I would really really appreciate it if anyone could turn up any information on anyone below

In 1901 the family lives in Duke Street, Coppenhall Monks, Crewe, Cheshire:

Robert J Smith b.1862 Sevenoaks, Kent (coppersmith)
Louisa Smith b. 1865 Wolverhampton, Staffordshire
John A Smith b. 1891
Harry Smith b. 1894
Frances May Smith b. 1896
Annie Sophia Smith b. 1898
Thomas Smith b. 1900

1911

They live at 24 Lockitt Street, monks coppenhall, crewe and they have an additional child, Elizabeth born in 1908.

I think that they were married in Nantwich in 1890. I have been told by a family member that they may have moved to Manchester, this is where I know one of the children got married (in Chorlton upon Medlock).

I will be eternally grateful for your help as I am trying to help an elderly relative find out about what happened to his family. Many thanks
