Hello Karen, Guess we'll see if you're still pursuing this. My name is Barry Beard, and I have just learned (I believe) that Soloman Beard is my great-great-great-grandfather. I am the son of Kenneth Beard, who is the son of Warren Beard, who is the son of William Beard, who is the son Charles Beard, who is the son of Soloman. I do have a copy of a UK newspaper article (brief, but detailed, though it doesn't name family members) describing the death of Soloman, on duty, in 1859.
