Hmmmm.....you'll have to excuse me for not thinking of that.....I've only been doing genealogy for 18 months or so.

Sorry.

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / A message regarding your marriage enquiry Andrea.....

I do apologise...I can't seem to find either your ID or the thread on which you posted your request.

You were looking for the marriage of Sarah E Forbes and Elijah Pursall at Smethwick, St Michaels in 1890.

The entire original parish registers for Smethwick are held in Smethwick library and are not held in any form by the Stafford Records Office.

Sorry I was unable to help.

Sadly, this entry wasn't particularly clear. There were no fathers names available on the entry and although I could clearly see one of the witnesses as John Smith, I could also clearly see that he witnessed the other marriages on that page so I guess he was one of the officers taking part in the administration. However, I am completely sure that the bride's name was Dianah - the two A's in the name were similar to each other but different from the N.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

This is a bit of a long job for me as I only have a few hours at the records office. However, if i'm lucky enough to find my info early I will have a bash at looking for yours.

All this information can be found by trawling through the BMD indexes on ancestry.co.uk
