Thank you for all the information, greatly received. I was looking into the possibility that Emily remarried as  her first husband dyed in Jan 1902 left her every opportunity to marry legally.  There are a lot of Ancestry Trees that have got bits of this family in them mixed in with others of the same name.  Fortunately Frederick or Fred came from Stanford, Berkshire.  And all his records record this which, makes him easy to follow.  The Hart family came from Borough's of Lambeth and Southwark.  I will also look into the info on the 1881 census which looks promising. The children had interesting lives, the youngest was shipped of to Canada when he was about 10 with lots of other orphans. The eldest immigrated to Canada where she married. Interesting though her parent’s names were not recorded on her marriage certificate.

Emily Hart  born in St Saviour Southwark, London April 1854 to Edward and Mary Hart.

Emily is recorded in the 1861 census – Surrey, Lambeth,  Relation to Head of House: Daughter. 7 year old Emily youngest daughter of Edward and Mary lived with her parents and three siblings.

In the 1871 census • Waterloo Buildings Road, Lambeth, Surrey, she  lived with her father and one brother.

Emily Hart married Fred Keen on 18 August 1889 at the “Parish St John the Evangelist, Walworth Borough Southwark. Spouse Father Charles Keen Register Type Parish Register”

In the 1891 census  Emily lived at St Thomas, St Mary, London with her husband, Fred, no children were recorded.

By 1897 Fred Keen was living with Selina Murrells,
Baptism 09 May 1897 • St John's, Waterloo Rd, Lambeth, London When Alice was baptised her surname was entered in the register as Murrells. Parents Frederick and Selina of 26 Bazon Street, Lambeth.

In the 1901 census Fred Keen lived with
Selina Keen ( Murrells) 34 and Alise (Alice) 4, Harry 2 and Frederick, 9 mths.

Selina Murrells died on 26 August 1901 in Southwark, Surrey, when she was 35 years old.

Fred Keen died in 1901/1902 I didn’t find a marriage certificate of Fred and Selina.  The children were taken into care after their deaths.

Emily must have died between 1891 and 1896.  Thank you for any help at locating a record of when she died,  Its Emily who is a relative of my husbands.

Cavan / Lookup request for James William Reilly
« on: Thursday 26 December 24 01:26 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for James birth record. On James railway employment his date of birth was recorded as 21 Jan 1878. He moved about a lot with his job, Armagh in 1901, Antrim in 1911.  Married in Dublin in 1926 Winifred Millicent Blair.  Died Belfast 20 April 1943.  He worked up to his death.  His Father’s name was Edward Reilly which is on his marriage certificate.  The two census state he was born in Co. Cavan.

Any Help would be appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

Thankyou for the link for Mary Eliza Montgomery. There was an inquest into her death, she worked in the Municiple Hospital for contagious disease,  perhaps she caught something in the hospital.  Regards

United States of America / Mary Eliiza Montgomery & Coote Ireland to Philadelphia
« on: Sunday 15 December 24 22:34 GMT (UK)  »
My G Grandmother Rebecca Montgomery's siblings immigrated to Philadelphia from Londonderry, Ireland about the 1860s/1880s. I haven't been able to find any records of Montgomery's sailings to confirm the dates.

Her sister, Mary Eliza Montgomery born  Claudy, Co. Londonderry, Ireland  abt 1850, married John Coote from Ireland on 16 June 1870 in Pennsylvania. In the 1870 census she lived with John at Thompson Street, 54th District Pennsylvania, USA

Between 1871 and 1876 they had 5 children, 3 died in infancy.

In 1872 they joined Richmond Presbyterian Church where their children's births are recorded.

Her husband John Coote died on 24 Apr 1876.

In the 1880 census Mary Coots
lived at Sixteenth Street, Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA. She lived on her own and worked as a Cook. Although her 2 children were only 5 and 8 years old.

I  found Mary in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, City Directory, 1881, Mary Eliza Coote Female 1881 330 S 10th Pennsylvania widow of John Coote.

In the 1880 census her brother. William Montgomery lived at Thompson Street with his wife Mary Jane  and 3 children in the same Street as Mary did in the 1870 census.

Their brother Robert James Montgomery  immigrated a few years before he married Jessie King on 5 Dec 1887 • Camden City, Camden, New Jersey, USA,  They had no children.

My first query is what happened to Mary Eliza's 2 children, Rebecca Coote (1872–1929) born 28 Feb 1872 • Pennsylvania, and Robert James Coote  (1875–1923) born 3 Oct 1875• Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. after their father, John Coote died in 1876.  It doesn't look like they stayed with family.

They don't appear again until
Mary Eliza's son Robert James Coote married Elizabeth Jane Duddv on the 6 Oct 1897, Philadelphia

Mary Eliza's daughter Rebecca Coote 28 years old lived with her mother and Stepfather Joseph Aiken at Bouviere Street, Philadelphia Ward 30, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the 1900 Census.

Robert James Coote's daughter was baptised  at Port Richmond Methodist Episcopal Church in 1900.  I can't find the family  in the census for that year.

The 2nd query I have is that in the 1900 census when Mary Eliza Montgomery lived in Bouvier Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. She was living with her 2nd husband, Joseph Eakin, her daughter, Rebecca Coote, her niece, and 4 year old Mary McClennan, who was a Border. In the 1910 census Mary Eakin was 14 years old and is referred to as Mary Eliza and Joseph's Eakin;s daughter.  After the 1910 census I can't find any records of Mary.   I don't think Mary was their daughter as Mary Eliza would have been 46 years old.

There is a family tree of Mary Eliza Montgomery on Familysearch, with most of the links to the research.

Thankyou for reading.
