I Will have to try and visit to get more information as my great grandmother, Margaret Lloyd, was caretaker at Llangedwyn Hall around 1900's and her husband John also worked on the Estate possibly in the gardens then as handyman.  She was given some cottages in nearby Scrwgan

In Llangedwyn St Cedwyn's church Monumental Inscriptions 1985 is the following: [Entry D8] JOHN LLOYD d. 17 Dec 1931 aged 68, also MARGARET ANN wife of the above d. 6 Nov 1958 aged 93, also WILLIAM THOMAS LLOYD son of JOHN and MARGARET LLOYD of Screwgan d. 26 March 1917 aged 24.

Hi, I remember going to Pendommen in the 1960s for piano lessons with a Miss Jones.

The Lighter Side / Re: Self Publishing Family History

Has anyone put their family history into a book for family and friends only ? Does anybody know how much self publishing costs for a low number of copies ?
I wrote up my family history research using Microsoft Word on a PC as my editor, inserting table of contents, chapters, index, references, pictures, scanned family photos, tables, pictures of old maps, and got up to about 200 sides of A4. I went to a business printer shop in my local town in 2014 and asked what they could do to print it, I think my first spring bound edition I had 10 copies done. I gave most to relatives in return for visiting them and picking their memories etc; though some then asked me to print copies for their children to pass on (at their cost).

Under Reason for Discharge could it say something like "Para[graph] 302 [clause] xvi KR [Kings Regulations] Sick" and perhaps such a regulation says two legs are needed? or loss of one is reason to be discharged?

Montgomeryshire / Re: Meifod Main Independent Chapel Records?

Hi,
I have a copy of Parish of Meifod Main Independant Chapel, Baptisms but the surname Taylor does not appear in any of the listings by: Childs surname, Mother's maiden name or Fathers surname. I've looked at dates of all Mary Jones baptisms but none match.
Regards,
Jonathan

Hi.
With a hallmark you should be able to find out who made it which may help.

Thanks Carol and Jim, I don't know who this is, and given the 1890s date suggested don't have anybody to link it to in London or that area prior to WW1.
Thanks again.

Hi,
Found these two photos in a box from N.Wales but seem to be taken around or in London. Any help regarding date or anything else appreciated. Nothing on the back of the 2nd photo, just a partial studio logo on the surround.
Thanks,
Jon
